Employment of furniture designers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2016 to 2026. Consumer demand for new products and new product styles should sustain the demand for furniture designers. Interior designers will be needed to respond to consumers’ expectations that the interiors of homes and offices meet certain conditions, such as being environmentally friendly and more easily accessible.

This October at the Greensboro, NC World Color Lab location we will be offering furniture finishing 101 along with a Q & A session with finishing tech’s. in collaboration with Sherwin Williams and also Wood selection and design with wood will be offered in the IMC conference center in collaboration with Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers, Inc.In April we will present the “The state of Furniture Design” panel discussion by top furniture designers and design professionals and we will have the culmination of ISFD’s Designer Showcase, a juried competition amount Maker/Designers with finalists and winners products shown at April High Point market and at a public art museum after the market. We are currently planning educational sessions in collaboration with Materials Connexion in High Point between markets as workshops for both students and design professionals (young and old).
